Is the Steampod 4.0 bad for your hair?
No! The Steampod is definitely not bad for your hair! The hot steam is able to penetrate the hair fibres, which actually conditions the hair and makes it healthier. The steaming ensures that the hair is hydrated and blood circulation in the scalp is stimulated, which in turn promotes hair growth. After using the Steampod, the hair will actually be healthier, smoother and more supple.

What sort of water should you use in the steam straightener?
Only use the Steampod 4.0 with demineralised water! This is water from which most salts (minerals) have been removed.

Directions for use
At first glance, the Steampod 4.0 looks a little different from a regular hair straightener, but it is very easy to use! First of all, apply the heat protectant to towel-dried hair. You can choose from the Steampod Smoothing Milk for fine hair, the Steampod Smoothing Cream for thick hair, or the Steampod Protecting Concentrate for all hair types.

Blow-dry the hair before using the Steampod 4.0. Choose the right comb for your hair type and then fill the water reservoir with water; this cannot be tap water. We therefore recommend using demineralised water for this. Then place the water reservoir back into the Steampod 4.0 and set the temperature in degrees Celsius. You can place the two heat-protecting caps on the curl locking guide for extra safety.

To generate steam, once you’ve switched on the steam straightener, hold the plates together for about a minute until steam is released. Take a section of hair (dry hair or hair that is at least 80% dry) and run the straighteners through the hair from underneath, either with or without the comb attachment. If you have set the correct temperature in degrees Celsius for your hair type, you only need to do this once to achieve perfectly straight hair. The same applies when curling your hair.

Tip: For the perfect straight result, we always recommend using the smoothing cream, milk or serum when using the Steampod 4.0. This ensures that the pro-keratin is pressed into the hair, leaving it feeling soft and providing extra care.
